Trinidad, CA

"Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean." - John Muir

It took over eight hours to get to this location on the Northern California coast. The landslides, blocked roads, detours, difficult conditions made for an adventurous road trip from Redding, CA, to say the least. The sights around us were enough reward for our travels. I vividly remember the moment when passing over the other side of the Shasta-Trinity National forest. We were surrounded by large pine trees with lush green valleys below. We had made it. All of the rain California has had over this winter has made for incredible colors. I was quite blown away! My adventurous heart was in heaven.

This bridal-themed styled shoot was heavily inspired by the organic beauty of this area. I didn't want to add much to this shoot because I wanted to focus on the textures, lighting, and grandeur surrounding us. The images you see here are both film and digital. Becca did an incredible job modeling for me, despite the 50-degree weather. And Katie Walden, owner of the Floranthropist, did an amazing job on the florals.
